Nikki Hewson
Nikki studied Music and English at Durham University and went onto to complete a PGCE before undertaking a teaching post in the Cheddar valley. Nikki became an advanced skills teacher, specialising in music and drama. As part of this role, she delivered training and support to primary teachers across Somerset. Last year, Nikki joined Somerset Music as a Teaching and Learning Development Manager and music coordinator for the Frome Community Learning Partnership. Nikki is currently enjoying the vibrant musical/artistic scene in Frome and coordinates a variety of musical projects including courses for gifted and talented musicians, music training for primary teachers and has recently turned her hand to the steel pans!
Nikki enjoys singing her self and delivers vocal and curriculum teaching in a number of Somerset schools. She is a keen performer and an active member of her local theatre group.
Nikki won the 2006 Child Education “Search for a songwriter” competition and has since become a composer with “out of the ark music” who have published several of her songs and Christmas musicals.
Nikki is thrilled to be working with Frome Youth Choir .
